Allegro Romani is a fairy. Literally. Disowned by his family because of his sexual orientation, he’s left the Fae realm for Earth. He’s done all right for himself, establishing a small store in a paranormal-friendly town. He’s even made a few friends, despite his awkward social skills. But one day a week, everything goes to hell. Alli is a Fayte, and they don’t tend to fare very well out of the magic-laden air of their home world. Once a week, their body rebels. And the result? A day full of the worst luck imaginable. For Alli, that day is always Friday. He’s come to dread them and would, in fact, spend every Friday tucked up in bed with the covers over his head if he could. But he’s found out from past experience that it doesn’t help, so now he just grits his teeth and tries to get through Friday without killing himself. Or someone else. Then one particular Friday, his bad luck results in something surprisingly good. He meets a gorgeous bear-shifter named Michael Lakkis. And despite seeing Alli at his worst, Michael isn’t running the opposite direction. In fact, he’s chasing down Alli with resolve and determination. Now Alli just has to find a way to keep his bear-shifter, get rid of the trouble plaguing him, and figure out who wants him out of Putman County for good. It’s enough to make any sane fairy run for the hills. Fortunately, Alli has never been accused of being particularly sane. And with his new bear at his side? Alli is determined to hang onto his new life. Bad luck or no bad luck...

I adored this story about Alli, a particularly rare breed of fairy called a "Fayte" who is banished from the Faerie world and takes up residence working as a florist in a small town in the mortal world. He is the only living Fayte on earth and there is a reason for that. They are a more magical species of fairy and in their home world the excess magic bleeds off into the Faerie realm, but on Earth it builds up and become transmuted, exploding into enormous bursts of bad luck for the Fayte and anyone near them. Fridays are particularly unlucky days for Alli. He has become a bit morose, after banging his head on a cupboard for the thousandth time or standing next to his neighbor as he is struck by lightning. Alli's luck gets better when he is rescued at the point of being hit by a truck by the most cheerful man he's ever met. Michael Lakkis is a bear-shifter and his relaxed take on the world proves to be a perfect conterpoint to a grumpy fairy. I am sure I will read this book again. I really like this talented author!

Loved the characters!
Lucky
Fairy Allegro Romani is attempting to cross the street when, half way to the safety of the sidewalk on the other side, an out of control van is heading straight for Alli. Tackled and rolled out of harm's way, Alli is saved by a bear-shifter named Michael Lakkis. Lying with a dazed Alli beneath him, Michael comes to a decision to protect, as well as seduce, Alli in the very near future.

Lucky is a well written romantic comedy. The setting is Putman County, Wisconsin. The storyline is heartwarming, with a hint of turmoil and a dash of sensual lovemaking. The amusing characters are creditable. Banished from his fairies' home four years ago because he is gay, Alli knew the risk of living on earth, yet he had no other choice. Being a rare breed of fairies, Alli is resigned to living a lonely life. However, in a town filled with paranormals, Alli is merely accepted as the resident klutz. A shy, tongue-tied, hide-in-the-corner florist, Alli's out of control magic is capable of producing more disaster than a nuclear bomb. On the other hand, Alli's magic works wonders on plants, making Alli's floral business a real benefit to the community.

Michael is a small, compact, mild-mannered bear shifter who moved into a cabin outside of town so his bear side could enjoy the open spaces of nature. Michael's sunny disposition charms most of the residents, once they realize Michael is sincere about his feelings for Alli as well as determined to protect the loveable fairy. Another reason Michael chose to move is to get away from his very loving, over bearing family. Michael has two older brothers that feel it is their duty to monitor Michael via phone calls on a daily basis, in addition to meeting any potentially serious love interest Michael may have. K. M. Mahoney has created a fantastic, humorous and especially enjoyable saga.
This review can be found at The Armchair Reader.

The blurb does a very good job of describing what the story is about so I won't go on to repeat that. It's a cute read with some humor and funny scenarios thrown in. I found I really enjoyed it.

One of the things I really liked about the story is the fact Alli has such horrible luck. In general, he's always clumsy but on Fridays, everything always goes wrong to the point of almost getting killed multiple times. He's lonely but he doesn't want to subject anyone to his wayward magic so he pushes everyone away in hopes of not hurting others. He's sweet but socially awkward so even though he's polite, it's hard for him to make friends.

Michael is completely different. He bought a hunting cabin in Putman County where you can't even hunt but as a bear shifter, having his own land is what mattered most to him. Plus, getting out of the city and away from his family for a while had its merits. He's big, determined and patient. He knows he wants Alli and he'll do everything he can to prove to Alli that they'd be good together. Another thing I enjoyed was that he's a different kind of shifter. I haven't read many books about bear shifters so it was a treat getting to see Michael's bear side - who he named Bruce - be playful and connect just as much with Alli as Michael does.

Their time together is cute, it made me smile almost the whole time because of how clumsy Alli is and how much trouble he tended to get into. I loved the way Michael handled and accepted Alli when Alli revealed his true self with Michael. Some minor conflicts happen within the story - a little mystery, another suitor - where Michael gets protective and possessive of Alli. While they moved the story along, I felt like the main focus was of Alli's development and how he comes to terms with Michael and everything Michael makes him face.

All in all, this was a nice read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We got to meet Michael's brothers which was very fun. This one left me with a smile on my face when I finished the book so I'm really looking forward to the next in the series, Tristan.
This was such an interesting tale. I really found myself hooked and couldn't put it down. I recommenced this book to anyone liking MM romance with complicated characters and a beautiful romance.
I adored Alli. His clumsiness made total sense in the great scheme of things, I could not help but feel bad for him, and somewhat relate ;) I also liked his character in general and I did like the settings of the story. Michael was okay character I suppose, but chemistry between him and Alli just did not work for me, or to be honest I did not feel any chemistry between them. I cannot explain why in any objective terms, it is extremely subjective feeling.
